JOEL MATHEWS

Joel Mathews is an Investment Advisor Representative of Hokin Investment Advisors. He is also the CFO/COO, a Principal, Investment Banker and Registered Representative of First Sovereign Securities Corp, an affiliated Broker Dealer. He brings an abundance of experience and knowledge to his role as a financial advisor. His wide-ranging background and training enables him to help clients pursue their long-term financial goals through comprehensive, individualized financial planning.

A broad, client-focused approach to financial planning ensures that the recommended programs cater to each client’s financial goals, time periods and risk tolerance. Joel specializes in investment analysis. He works closely with clients to develop customized financial strategies that integrate asset allocation, college savings, financial organization, retirement planning, and succession preparation.

Joel’s passion is helping people, whether it is planning for retirement or college expenses. In addition to developing a custom financial strategy for each client, he conducts regular meetings with clients to review performance, reconfirm financial goals and make adjustments as economic or lifestyle conditions permit.

His securities registrations include Series 24, 27, 6, 63, 65, 79 and 82. Joel Mathews earned the AIF® Designation in
2020. Attainment of the AIF Designation demonstrates understanding of the Prudent Practices® and methodology. He also has a B.S. in Accounting from DePaul University.

Outside of work, Joel and his wife, Delilah, reside in Antioch, IL and have 2 children. Together they enjoy various outdoor sports and activities, boating, concerts and spending time with family. He enjoys cooking, hiking, fitness and traveling which are just a few of his passions.
